Dr Ogunremi obtained his primary medical degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1994. Basic surgical training in the Newcastle scheme was followed by specialist training in Diagnostic Radiology on the West Midlands scheme. His final year was spent in sub-specialization in Nuclear Medicine at City Hospital, Birmingham.
He was appointed Consultant Radiologist with an interest in Nuclear Medicine in 2004 and spent 3 months in the North-East USA on visiting fellowships in PET-CT in early 2005.
He is clinical lead for Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT at UHB, working in collaboration with the Birmingham PET Centre and BMI The Priory Hospital, Birmingham.
He is involved in training and education of undergraduate and postgraduate doctors and allied healthcare professionals with particular emphasis on imaging of haematological disorders and lung cancer. His research collaborations mostly involve the evaluation of PET in response assessment of various malignancies.
